A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 suffered a nose gear collapse on the tarmac at Baltimore/Washington International airport on 4 August, the carrier confirms.
The gear collapsed immediately after the aircraft, which was operating flight 149 to Atlanta, was pushed back from the gate, according to the carrier and the US Federal Aviation Administration, which released a preliminary report of the incident.
Southwest says it received no reports of injuries from the 126 passengers and five crew members on the aircraft at the time.
Photographs posted on Twitter show the aircraft resting on its nose while passengers deplane from the forward cabin door.
The carrier did not provide information about the aircraft, but Flightradar24.com says it was a 737-300, and several media outlets have reported the aircraft is registered N368SW.
That aircraft was manufactured in 1993 and had accumulated 71,667h and 59,243 cycles as of April 2016, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer.
