SR Technics has added Boeing aircraft to its portfolio with the acquisition of FLS Aerospace, the Danish-owned international aircraft maintenance and engineering provider with major bases in the UK and Ireland.

Zurich-based SR Technics, which has extensive experience of Airbus aircraft, employs more than 2,800 personnel and offers technical support to 270 customers and MRO services for 350 aircraft, 300 powerplants and around 78,000 components worldwide.

Customers include Swiss, Martinair, Dragonair, Edelweiss, Helvetic, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways, Air China, Novair, FedEx, EasyJet, KLM, BMI, Air Caraãbes, Austrian Airlines, Hapag Lloyd, SAS, Monarch, Garuda and Egyptair.

Revenue

FLS Aerospace currently supports more than 500 Boeing and Airbus aircraft under long-term contracts.

It employs around 3,000 people and operates a network of maintenance centres at London Stansted and Manchester International in the UK; Dublin in the Irish Republic; and Palma in Majorca, Spain. It also operates a major component storage and distribution centre at London's Heathrow airport.

Following the acquisition, the combined company is expected to generate revenues of more than $1 billion a year, making it one of the world's largest independent providers of aircraft technical services.
