Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) has designed a new 15-pallet cargo conversion for the Boeing 757-200 and aims to secure a launch customer later this year, writes Brendan Sobie.
ST Aero president Tay Kok Khiang says the maintenance company is ready to apply for new supplemental type certificates for 757-200SFs configured with 14.5 and 15 pallets. But ST Aero will begin the certification process only after a cargo carrier commits to converting 757s.
ST Mobile’s 757 conversion line is to restart this year, with work on the first of two Royal New Zealand Air Force aircraft. But Tay says this conversion is different from the modification it is offering cargo carriers.
