Singapore Technologies Aerospace has unveiled its new widebody hangar at ST Aviation Services (Sasco) in north Changi.
Singapore's minister of state for finance and transport, Lim Hwee Hua, officially opened the hangar at a ceremony on Wednesday.
The $25 million hangar will be equipped to carry out heavy maintenance and modification on the Airbus A340 and Boeing 777, 747. ST Aerospace says this latest hangar, which can accommodate a single widebody aircraft at a time, increases its position as the largest airframe maintenance provider in the world.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lim Hwee Hua said: “Sasco’s continued investment in state-of-the-art equipment and new hangars such as this will help strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading aerospace hub.”
