Israel's Steadicopter plans a fully autonomous flight of its improved prototype unmanned helicopter in early March following delays caused by the theft of the prototype last year, writes Arie Egozi.
The company claims it has overcome the stabilisation problem that has prevented the development of a fully autonomous helicopter and that it has developed the first auto-stabilised helicopter applicable for any platform size.
The helicopter is designed for surveillance, power line inspection, law enforcement surveillance, precision agriculture, border control, detection of environmental hazards and fire monitoring.
