Marconi Electronic Systems has tested its Striker helmet during a high speed ejection of a mannequin from a McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom flying at 600kt (1,100km/h). Striker encompasses Marconi helmet technologies such as day/night vision systems and off-boresight targeting. Normally, ejection tests are from ground sleds, but an air test provides a more representative dynamic environment, allowing data collection during the entire "flight", including when the parachute opens.
