Sukhoi has begun evaluation flights with the first serially produced Superjet 100 ahead of delivery to launch customer Aeroflot. Aircraft number 97007 made a 3h flight from the type's production base in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, carrying two crew members. The manufacturer has 17 Superjet 100s under construction, of which five are at the final assembly stage. After flight evaluation, the aircraft will be transferred to the Zhukovsky testing centre near Moscow for acceptance trials on commercial routes and is tentatively scheduled for handover to Aeroflot in mid-December.
