Emirates has a stand to match its orders in terms of sheer size.

The massive display (Stand W520) was designed and built by the marketing specialist Pulse Group to celebrate the major Airbus A380 order which Emirates placed earlier this year.

The 90% scale model of the front section of an A380 includes a triple deck with seating for 96 guests, six reception desks, seven plasma screens, seven DVD players and more than 50 display modules with illuminated images and video monitors.

"We would have made it a full-sized scale model but we would struggle to fit it into some of the display halls," says Gerry Ellender of the Pulse Group. "Dubai has one of the few halls big enough to take us.

"When we displayed the model in Berlin, we only had a few inches between it and the ceiling."

The stand took 300 man-hours to build.

The display also features a fully-operational First Class seat which has its own TV with 500 channels, a massage function, wardrobe and mini bar; it can be made into a private area and converts to a flat bed.
