The Pentagon plans to sell Taiwan 1,299 Stinger heat-seeking air-defence missiles, 74 training missiles, 74 vehicle-mounted missile launchers, 96 high-mobility multi- purpose wheeled vehicles, and 0.50 calibre ammunition, worth an estimated $420 million. US contractors benefiting from the foreign military sale include Hughes Missile Systems, Boeing Missiles and Space and AM General.
