The first of three Boeing 767s to be converted for tanker/transport duties with the Italian air force by Alenia Aeronautica subsidiary Aeronavali arrived at the firm's Capodichino facilities near Naples last week. The company produces the convertible interior kit, cargo door and hose and will install the refuelling drum unit. The first aircraft will be completed by August 2006 and delivered in early 2007.
