Private equity company Terra Firma has agreed to buy Morgan Stanley’s aircraft leasing arm AWAS for $2.5 billion and to assume existing liabilities. AWAS has a fleet of over 150 aircraft with a market value of $2.5 billion. The deal is expected to close by the middle of the year subject to regulatory approval.
