British Aerospace Flight Training Australia (BAFTA) has announced new pilot training contracts worth A$3 million ($2.3 million). The Australian Army will now contract all its basic flying training to BAFTA. The move follows criticism of the Army's recruiting and training, and a current tri-service review in the wake of a recent mid-air collision between two Sikorsky Black Hawks during night training with special forces, which killed 19 servicemen. The Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Australian Navy has also extended a flight-screening contract with BAFTA, under which a further 42 recruits will now undergo screening.
