Rolls-Royce announced at Le Bourget yesterday that it had won an order worth around $900 million from Emirates for Trent 500 engines to power an additional 20 long-range Airbus A340s for the Dubai-based airline.
In addition, the deal incorporates a TotalCare agreement that has been extended to cover Emirates' entire A340 fleet.
In yesterday's order, Emirates opted for the high gross weight version of the aircraft, which, like the rest of the series, is powered solely by the Trent 500.
