Bias and prejudice is found everywhere. Now it seems, even the relatively young, innocent world of the "uninhabited" air vehicle is tainted. Overheard at a recent UAV meeting: "This is an autonomous vehicle, NOT an RPV! Real men build autonomous vehicles."

L Overdee: "Test pilots still have some major advantages when it comes to testing X-vehicles."
Engineer conference moderator: "Such as?"
Overdee: "Broad-based intelligence."
(audience laughter)
Overdee: "Communicates well with other humans."
(even more audience laughter)
