Ukraine has suffered a delay to the launch of its Lybid communications satellite. The cause of the delay was due to the Ukrainian authorities failing to confirm the orbital slot of 38 degrees East in time for registration with the International Telecommunications Union. The slot was thus allocated to a French satellite. A new position of 48 degrees East has now been allocated to Lybid. The satellite will now fly in the fourth quarter of 2013.
