MTU has completed initial tests of a three-stage military engine compressor with a pressure ratio in excess of 5:1, as part of a technology development programme partially sponsored by the German defence ministry. This compares with the 4.2:1 pressure ratio of MTU's three-stage compressor for the Eurojet EJ200 in the Eurofighter.
