The video depicts the global mated survey of the US department of defense's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Orbital Express on-orbit demonstration's two spacecraft by the arm camera.
Orbital Express consists of a pair of satellites, the ASTRO servicing vehicle and the NextSat demonstration client vehicle. The video was created from 1,600 still pictures taken by the mission's camera on March 28.
Orbital Express is in the midst of a three-month demonstration mission to validate the technical feasibility of robotic, autonomous on-orbit refueling and reconfiguration of satellites. The two experimental satellites were launched as a mated pair on a Lockheed Martin Atlas V launch vehicle from Cape Canaveral on the evening of March 8.
