VIP charter operator VistaJet is relocating its corporate headquarters from Baar, Switerland to Malta as it prepares for the next phase of its expansion.

The move, scheduled for completion by year-end, comes as the company adds a 50th Maltese VP-M-registered aircraft to its fleet. VistaJet now has an international inventory of 60 Bombardier Global- and Challenger-series aircraft.

The 12-year-old company opened its operations centre at Malta International airport in June 2013, but this latest move will bring together its operations, finance and European customer services teams under one roof.

“Centralising our European business functions and moving our global group headquarters to Malta will enable the company to thrive and deliver even more efficiency for our global customer base,” says VistaJet founder and chairman Thomas Flohr.

In 2015, the firm recorded its strongest performance since operations began. Passenger numbers grew by more than 20% year-on-year and traffic across its core markets – including the USA, China and Europe – soared by nearly a quarter, it says.

VistaJet is preparing to accelerate growth this year with its operations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the USA all targets for expansion.
