Funding problems have hit NASA's plans to test the Boeing X-37 Orbital Space Plane (OSP) technology demonstration vehicle. The already-delayed launch of the X-37 for a 270-day orbital flight, boosted by a Lockheed Martin Atlas V or Boeing Delta IV rocket, planned for 2006, is now unlikely to take place.

Atmospheric drop tests in 2004 have also been cancelled. It is reported that the X-37 project - in co-operation with the US Air Force - has experienced structural engineering problems with the wings.
