ITALIA Italo-German relations could be strained by the news that carrier Lufthansa is ditching its Lufthansa Italia brand, following difficulty establishing its presence in the market. It will be phased out at the end of the summer, with its fleet of eight Airbus A319s deployed elsewhere within the group. The carrier will market itself as Lufthansa or Air Dolomiti, which forms part of Lufthansa Regional. Both will increase their capacity on Italian-German routes.
