EADS Europe's aerospace giant ranks behind only Google and Audi - and ahead of BMW and Apple - as an employer of choice for European engineering students. The survey by Swedish branding consultants Universum considered the reputations of nearly 61,000 employers. EADS, which ranked seventh last year and wants to hire 4,000 people in 2011, said it was crucial to appeal to young people: "We need to attract the best and we need to keep them."

BURBANK AIRPORT Fitch has put a negative rating watch on bonds issued by Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena airport. The airport - seen here awash during 2010 storms - is normally a good risk, but Fitch is worried that a new issue of perhaps $90 million to fund an intermodal transit centre will "significantly" raise the debt burden, as it is to be covered by fees paid by car rental companies - a volatile income source. Traffic losses and cost control are also concerns.
