Jordanian charter operator Arab Wings says focusing on corporate customers has helped it establish a niche in a competitive market - but it means the Amman-based company can never let its standards slip.
"We have contracts with several blue-chip, multinational clients - and they are the sort of companies that audit you regularly and, when they need you, you really have to deliver a service," says chief executive Ahmad Abu Ghazaleh.
The Amman-based firm will by early next year have a fleet of 17 aircraft - 13 of them managed on behalf of private owners. They include the first Bombardier Global 5000 in the region. It also runs a Bombardier-approved maintenance operation at Amman.

Although business has been recovering strongly since the downturn in the global economy, revenues have been slower, admits Ghazaleh. "In terms of charter movements, we are back up to 2008 levels, but prices are not."
