Only four years after setting up in competition to established completion houses Jet Aviation and Lufthansa Technik, Switzerland's AMAC Aerospace is making a big brand statement at the show, with the largest stand [258] in the upper halls.
The Basle-based independent claims to have won a significant share of the head-of-state jetliner completion market, and is continuing to invest in its facility, next to Jet Aviation at the city's airport.
AMAC, which also offers business jet maintenance, opened a third hangar last year. It has just handed over its first completed Boeing 777 and is currently outfitting a head-of-state Boeing 747, a project it expects to complete by the end of 2014.
Group executive chairman and chief executive Kadri Muhiddin says demand in this niche and highly specialised market remains strong: "We are actually pushing business away. The reason we have consistently delivered on time and on budget is because we have been strict about not overloading ourselves."
