Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has unveiled a diagnostic tool for two business jets powered by the company's engines.
The flight data acquisition storage and transmission system (FAST) is already available for the P&WC engines aboard the Dassault Falcon 7X and Bombardier Learjet 60.
The FAST tool diagnoses maintenance problems and transmits the data wirelessly to the engine maker's designated analysis center. The center then notifies the engine's operator with their analysis. The tool also keeps up to date records and documents related to the engine.
P&WC plans to offer the same tool on the Bombardier Q400 regional jet in the second quarter of 2012.
