Malaysia Airlines has signed an agreement with Pratt & Whitney for the PW4170 to power the 17 Airbus A330s it has on firm order.

The aircraft order includes 15 A330-300s and two A330-200 freighters. MAS will start taking delivery of the aircraft in the first half of 2011.

"We are happy with the engine performance and support for our A330 and Boeing 747 aircraft engines," says MAS chief executive Azmil Zahruddin.

"We are confident that we will enjoy even better engine performance and that Pratt & Whitney will continue to deliver the same high level of support with the PW4170 engines."
