Bombardier hopes of seeing a CSeries order from Gulf Air at the Bahrain International Airshow appear to have been dashed.
Despite much speculation and a major presence from the Canadian manufacturer - with a CSeries cabin mock-up and several business jets on display and the head of its aerospace business Guy Hachey in attendance - Gulf Air has failed to schedule a press conference.
It is believed that a proposed deal for the narrowbody fell through in last-minute negotiations with the state-owned airline, which is currently being restructured under chief executive Samer Majali.
Neither Bombardier nor Gulf Air issued a comment.
