Advanced avionics equipment manufacturer Universal Avionics has completed the development of its UniLink products, which include the UL-800 and UL-801 Communication Management Unit (CMU).
In addition, the company is in the process of certifying the Federal Aviation Authority technical standard order (TSO) package for its third-generation airborne datalink system. Delivery is expected to begin shortly after gaining approval, said the company.
The UniLink products are concerned with communication, navigation, surveillance (CNS) air traffic management (ATM) environment, which includes operations and control of digital communication between pilots and air traffic controllers.
The UL-800/801 interfaces with Universal Avionics' current flight management system product line with either 4in (10.2cm) or 5in control display units. In addition, the UL-801 includes an internal VHF Data Radio (VDR).
The manufacturer added that the UniLink UL-800/801 airborne datalink features multiple media routing, loadable customer database, hi-res weather graphics, data recording output, CSN/ATM provisioned, including Eurocontrol's Link 2000+ Programme among other features.
