Probably the biggest regional cluster exhibiting at the show is France's Aerospace Valley. The area covers the Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrenees regions and includes the country's aerospace capital Toulouse. It has some 800 aerospace companies, almost 100 of which are exhibiting at the 1,360m2 (14,640ft2) Aerospace Valley stand in hall 4.
As well as giving a platform to its members and promoting its educational and research centres, Aerospace Valley - formed three years ago - is at the show to establish links with other regional clusters throughout the world. During the show, the organisation, which is headed by Airbus France director general Jean-Marc Thomas (pictured), is welcoming delegations from Hamburg, Montreal, Wallonia in Belgium and Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, which covers the south of England.
