Saudi Arabian Airlines has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine to power Airbus A330s that it has on order.
Rolls-Royce says in a statement that the Trent 700EP (Enhanced Performance) engine will power up to 12 A330s for the airline. It adds that the contract includes a long-term service agreement and the total value of the contract is $900 million.
Saudi Arabian placed firm orders for eight A330-300s last year and took options on four more of the Airbus twinjets. Rolls-Royce says deliveries are due to begin next year.
