Dubai Aerospace Enterprise subsidiary StandardAero has inked a maintenance agreement with Australia's Airnorth for the airline's Hamilton Sundstrand APS2300 auxiliary power units (APU). The APU equips the airline's Embraer 170 aircraft.
The deal covers a period of three years, with two consecutive two-year options. If all options are fully executed, the service agreement would be extended through July 2017, says StandardAero.
"Establishing a maintenance contract helps position us for long-term growth in the region and offers Airnorth a number of benefits, including preferential contract pricing; guaranteed turn times and access to spare APU's, if required," says StandardAero's senior vice president, airlines and fleets, Ian Smart.
StandardAero is the only authorised repair facility for the APS2300 APU, other than the original equipment manufacturer, Hamilton Sundstrand, adds StandardAero.
