Charter carrier XL Airways' German division has selected newly-established overhaul firm Dublin Aerospace to conduct base maintenance on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The agreement, which takes effect on 1 November, involves heavy maintenance on four 737-800s over the winter 2010-11 season.
XL Airways Germany technical director Barry Grimm says the Irish company's reputation for turnaround reliability and high-quality workmanship were "key elements" in the decision. He adds that Dublin Aerospace also has "proven expertise" on the type.
Dublin Aerospace, which is based across three hangars at Dublin Airport, says that XL's selection is a "real statement of confidence" in its operation.
