Hamilton Sundstrand and AVIC Electromechanical Systems Company's (AVIC EM) have agreed to form a joint venture to build vapour cycle cooling systems in China.
The agreement, which will involve AVIC EM's Nanjing Engineering Institute of Aerospace Systems, will help develop air management systems in the Chinese and international markets, says Hamilton Sundstrand.
The joint venture will initially manufacture vapour cycle systems in Nanjing for commercial aircraft, and later expand to include design and development work, it adds.
"The China market holds tremendous promise for the aviation segment in the years ahead and we believe, by joining with AVIC EM, we will continue to grow together," says Hamilton Sundstrand president Alain Bellemare.
